Shady Grove Elementary's November Gem of Appreciation is Ashton Medrano! Mrs. Medrano serves as a 1st grade teacher. She is receiving the Gem because of her positive leadership. Mrs. Medrano demonstrates professionalism in her role as an educator and as a team player. She demonstrates an interest in growing in her craft and takes initiative to expand her own thinking and that of others. Mrs. Medrano is as dedicated to students' social-emotional and behavioral growth as she is to their academic progress. Ms. Medrano is positive and proactive, always willing to try new strategies to help children who are struggling with behavior.
