A little bit about me...
This will be my 9th year of teaching! I have been a first and second grade teacher for 7 years and this will be my third year of being a Resource Teacher. I am certified in general education and special education, and I was trained in the dyslexia program, Reading By Design. I am so excited to be working with small groups of students for more specialized instruction.
I graduated from Burnet High School in 2004 and from college at Oral Roberts University in 2008. After graduating, I pursued alternate certification with I Teach Texas. I became certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade in January 2014 and became a full time teacher for Burnet CISD in August 2014. I got certified for special education recently in March 2021.
My husband is named Matt, and together we have two daughters named Kendell and Eliza. Most of my family lives nearby in Texas. I enjoy being outdoors, playing sports, going to church, and spending time with family and friends. I am very grateful for the many blessings in life and one of those is teaching at Shady Grove Elementary. I am looking forward to another wonderful school year!
