Elementary Art Teacher

Hi, my name Is Carrie Beth Jones. I am the Art teacher here at Shady Grove Elementary. I have taught for 16 years and 6 of those being in Art. My family and I have lived in Burnet and been a part of this community for 23 years!!! Go Bulldogs!!! I am married to Coach Kurt Jones. We have been married for 25 years this December!!! He is the athletic director for the district. Together we have 2 wonderful kids. Our daughter Mady will be starting her second year at ACU in Abilene to become a nurse. Our son Grant is a Senior this year at BHS. He plays Football, runs Track, and plays golf for the Burnet Bulldogs!!! Together we attend Vanderveer Church of Christ.

I absolutely love having the opportunity to teach art to our youngest students in the district!!! Its an exciting time of exploring new things that some have never done before. This will be my 7th year to teach Art!!! We like to explore with various kinds of art media and get our hands dirty in art class!! In my opinion that's the best kind of art class! I enjoy getting to share my love of art with kids.

You can find our students art decorating our campus hallway outside the art room throughout the year. The kids love seeing all of their work, and I love how it brightens our school! Students in Kinder - 2nd grade will be making an Art portfolio. These portfolios are filled with several pieces of art that we work on through out the school year, and will go home with your student in May. Stay tuned for amazing art to be created from our Shady Grove Bullpups this coming school year!!!! They continue to amaze me with their talents and what they can accomplish!!
