About the Principal

Hello to the Shady Grove Community!

Welcome to another school year! I am thrilled to be starting this year with you as the principal of Shady Grove Elementary!

 

A little about me...

I was born and raised in Burnet, TX as the sixth of seven children. I am a 2001 Burnet High School graduate! I married my high school sweetheart, Dan. We have three boys: Tanner, Cason, and Graydon . We spend a lot of our time chasing these boys, so in the evenings you're likely to find us on a field or in a gym watching our kids play sports. As a family, we love traveling, watching movies, playing board games, and getting together with our huge extended family.

 

My educational career began in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University and continued with a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. I cherish my years of experience in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and GT classrooms as well as in administrative positions.

 

While our teachers work to grow our students each and every day academically, we also understand the opportunity we are given as elementary educators. SGE and its teachers help shape our students' first impressions of learning and of the school life. We are determined to lead all students to their full potential and have fun while doing it!
