I really hope your child is excited about beginning the school year...all of the anxieties about the “newness” will soon disappear and we will all be having such a great time as we start learning our routines and making friends to enjoy throughout the year. I am sure you have many questions about your child’s kindergarten year, so I hope this newsletter will answer many of them. What to Bring to School:
Your child will need to bring a backpack every day. Please check the contents of this backpack daily! I will give each child a Paw Planner to keep any papers, as well as any important notes that come from the office or me, and money that needs to come to school. This folder needs to be sent back to school every day it is our line of daily communication!!
Your child will also need to have sneakers or athletic shoes to wear on gym days. If your child does not know how to tie shoes, it would be helpful to help them practice. It is helpful to send your child to school with these shoes on everyday as we are running and playing and in the sand and wood chips every day.
Snack Time
We will be having a small snack daily. These little ones tend to get hungry with such a long day and only lunch to eat. If you would like to send a snack to share with the class, we will be having a morning snack until we adjust to our new schedule, that I give to them all and they can take one they bring daily when we go out to recess.
Birthdays
Birthdays in kindergarten are FUN! Some children like to celebrate their special day with a birthday snack. If you would like to send in a treat, there is a new rule that we need to send it home with the students at the end of the day, so it would help to have things that are wrapped individually.
Transportation
For your child’s safety and well-being, please let us know of any change in his/her schedule to go home. Please contact transportation before 1:30 at
[email protected] and include the following information:
- Include the following details in the email:
- Student’s full name
- Student’s grade level
- Student’s homeroom teacher (if applicable)
- The transportation change you want made for today (bus rider to car rider or car rider to bus rider)
They will bring us the change in an email and we will help get your child where they need to go.
