I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Can't believe Christmas is less than a month away! We have lots to do before Christmas break!
This week we will introduce the letter U. Your child should now be able to identify 7 letters (E,F, H, I, L, T, and U). Please go over these letters at home with your child. We will complete several letter U activities, like making umbrellas and unicorns, this week. We will also work on rhyming words. We go over rhyming words every day when we do our phonemic awareness, but we will reinforce this concept during our morning rotations with matching games and puzzles.
In math, we will continue to work on counting. Please have your child count objects at home! They can count anything! Food, toys, coins, whatever you can think of! Also, we will introduce whole and part relationships.
In science/social studies, we are discussing making choices. We will discuss green and red choices and how these choices affect our classroom, our families and our community. We will focus on making green (good) choices to keep us safe and help us learn!
Keep reading and logging the books in your log books! I was thrilled to see that several students read a lot during the Thanksgiving holiday! We are on our way to reaching our goal of 500 books read in Pre-K!
