Hello everyone! I would like to introduce myself as one of the Kindergarten teachers at Shady Grove Elementary School. I am looking forward to a wonderful 2017-18 school year! Here is a little bit of info about me:
Personal: I have been married to a wonderful man for 4 years and we are expecting our first child this November, a little girl! I am originally from Fredericksburg, Texas and we end up going back a lot as we have a family ranch there. My other passion besides teaching is horses. I love riding and training horses. We have many fur babies as well: three dogs and two indoor cats (not to be confused with our multiple outdoor barn cats.) We have two of our horses here in Burnet along with a few goats from our family ranch that had at one time been bottle babies. I can not wait for this school year to start and for me to get a chance to know of you!
Education: I graduated in December of 2012 from Angelo State University with a degree in Education (K-6). I worked as a Swim Instructor for several years after graduation specializing in 6 months to 5 years of age and special needs children. In August of 2015 I was hired on at BCISD as the Head Swim Coach and Inclusion Teacher at the High School for the 2015-16 school year. I continued coaching swim and moved to the middle school for the 2016-17 school year to become the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading Remediation teacher. Starting this 2017-18 school year, I am finally moving down to my passion: Kindergarteners! I am beyond excited to be teaching young ones again. I became a teacher (especially Kindergarten) because I love seeing the light shining in their eyes and how proud they are of themselves when they finally understand something that they have been working so hard to get.
