A little bit about me...
This will be my 12th year of teaching! I have been a first and second grade teacher for 7 years and this will be my 5th year of being a Resource/ Inclusion Teacher. I am certified in general education and special education, and I was trained in the dyslexia program Reading By Design. I am so excited to be working with small groups of students for specialized instruction.
I graduated from Burnet High School in 2004 and from college at Oral Roberts University in 2008. After graduating, I pursued alternate certification with I Teach Texas. I became certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade in January 2014 and became a full time teacher for Burnet CISD in August 2014. I got certified for special education in March 2021. Last year, I also was recognized as a National Board Certified teacher.
My husband is named Matt, and together we have two daughters named Kendell and Eliza. Most of my family lives nearby in Texas. I enjoy being outdoors, playing sports, going to church, and spending time with family and friends. I am very grateful for the many blessings in life and one of those is teaching at Shady Grove Elementary. I am looking forward to another wonderful school year!
