Teachers in the Star Lab
I am so excited to be teaching in the Star Lab this year. This will be my ninth year in education! I've taught 2 years in First Grade, 3 years in Kindergarten, and 3 years in 2nd Grade., and this will be my first year in the teaching role of Instructional Intervention Teacher. This summer, I began my journey to becoming a Certified Academic Language Therapist, focusing on supporting and serving students with Dyslexia. I love being a teacher and working with kids, and I am so excited to start this journey working with all of our grade levels!
I grew up just down the road in Llano and graduated from Llano High School in 2006. After high school, I attended and graduated from The University of Texas (HOOK ‘EM!!) with a degree and certification in Applied Learning and Development in Early Childhood Education. I met my husband while in college and moved here in 2011 after we married. He is an electrical lineman for PEC in Bertram. We have two daughters, Aubree (6) and Lainee (3), and they bring us so much joy and keep us busy! We also have a dog, Emma, and a pet catfish named Mr. Whiskers. In my free time I enjoy spending time with our family, reading books, crafting, and being with friends. I am so blessed and excited to be spending the year serving all of our kids here at Shady Grove and look forward to learning and growing together!
